Smallworld announces 30Mbps MaX Broadband

October 24, 2015

Smallworld Media is planning to launch its super-fast Max Broadband package for residential users in the UK, on November 1st.

The service provides broadband speeds of 30Mbps – the fastest speed currently available for UK users.

The new service, which will be available over Smallworld’s cable network, follows a major investment by the company in digital infrastructure and the launch of a new TV platform earlier in 2015.

Smallworld is providing Max Broadband as a bolt on to its existing packages. The service provides unlimited usage, eliminating worries about additional costs.

As it is provided over cable, all users benefit from the fast speeds, no matter how far they live from the exchange.

However, some customers will receive the service over BT phone lines, in which case Smallworld offers 18Mbps download speeds. Customers with this ‘unbundled’ service could be affected by distance from the exchange.

Smallworld has promised to make it clear to prospective customers which service they will receive – cable broadband or unbundled.

Smallworld is deploying the latest ADSL2+ technology to ensure that its claim of providing the fastest broadband connection will not be beaten.

Unfortunately the service is only available in Ayrshire, Cumbria and Lancashire.
